The 25th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival is taking place on September 18th, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the beautiful grounds of the Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa.
This event will be featuring some of Hawaii’s finest artists of the Genre, Slack Key Guitar, which includes: George Kuo, Kawika Kahiapo, Dwaight Kanae, Ledward Kaapana, Kailua Moon, Stephen Inglis, Kamuela Kahoano, and many others. Also, there will be local crafters and food vendors.
Makana is an internationally acclaimed Slack Key guitarist and one of Hawaii’s cultural ambassadors to the world. According to Makana, “Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar is a rare art form; among the traditional Hawaiian arts, it ranks as one of the least known and practiced.”
